Bob McClure is the current FCA Representative serving the greater Portland area of Maine. He has been with FCA for over fourteen years, which includes time as Maine's State Director.
In 1979, Bob was part of the first Maine huddle group, which was led at his home in Cape Elizabeth by his father Gene. He was also a member of the 1981 state championship Griffin Club baseball team and one of only two 16-year-olds selected that year. He won the Triple C batting title for the 1981-2 season while earning a batting average of .419.
Bob started in left field as a freshman at USM and maintained a .350 average while playing at the collegiate level. After college, he went on to coach Little League, Senior League, and Little Ladd football. He collected three baseball championships and one football championship before retiring from coaching. He served as chaplain for the Portland Sea Dogs for fourteen years, worked in the Florida Marlins organization for seven years, and worked with the Red Sox for seven years. He has conducted chapel for football teams such as the University of Buffalo, Hofstra, University of Richmond, Northeastern University, and Syracuse. He was also the first chaplain in the United States Basketball League (USBL). While serving with FCA, his passion has been for Maine's youth to come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and to grow in relationship with Him.
Bob now resides in Portland and has two sons, David (26) and Danny (24). He also has two granddaughters, Annabella and Adrianna.
